Jawan dies after being thrown off bus in Bihar
Sitamarhi: An Assam Rifles jawan was killed after he was allegedly thrown out of a speeding Bihar State Road Transport Corporation bus,the police said on Tuesday. The jawan,identified as Harsh Narayan Jha,suffered grievous injuries after he was allegedly pushed out of the speeding bus near Dumra locality by BSRTC stafffers following altercation over payment of fare,said Superintendent of Police Anwar Hussain. He was taken to a hospital where attending doctors referred him to the SKMCH at Muzaffarpur,but he died on his way,he said.
HIV victim: 2 docs suspended in AP
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Health Department suspended two doctors of a government hospital after they refused to care for a HIV woman who was in labour. After blood tests,the doctors told the woman that she was HIV positive and forced her to leave the hospital. The woman later delivered a baby girl on the roadside in Suryapet in Nalgonda district on Saturday with the help of labourers who saw her lying on the road. The state government has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Cops to take accused pilot to temple
Mumbai: Jet Airways co-pilot Varun Agrawal,arrested on charges of raping an air hostess,would be taken to the temple in Andheri where he allegedly got engaged with the victim,to gather circumstantial evidence,the police said on Tuesday. The victim claimed that the temple priest had performed a puja on the occasion, said A V Jadhav,Senior Inspector at Powai police station.
Sena celebrations to defy ASI ban
Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Tuesday said his party will celebrate the anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharajs coronation at the Raigad fort,irrespective of the Archaeological Survey of India ASI banning any such function. In a strongly-worded editorial in his party mouthpiece,Saamna,Thackeray said despite being surrounded by Mughals from all corners,the coronation ceremony was held at Raigad fort on June 6,1674.
Woman told to go to first husband
Muzaffarnagar: In a throw back to the Gudiya case,a panchayat has asked a Muslim woman,who had remarried,to go back to her first husband,who returned after remaining missing for five years. Roshan got married with Irshad 11 years ago and had two children. Irshad then went missing for five years. In the meantime,Roshan got married to Gaffar.
Stranded Gujjars rescued near Kargil
Jammu: The 25-member group of nomads,who were reported missing on way to Jabbal nullah near Nunkun at 7,135 meters above sea level,the highest point near Suru Valley towards Kargil,were traced on Tuesday by a team of officials who did an aerial survey of the area. These officials were helped by a group of Gujjars.
