Emergency landing for Jet Airways flight
MUMBAI: A Chennai-bound Jet Airways flight with 106 passengers on Wednesday returned to Mumbai airport and landed in an emergency condition due to a technical snag,an airport official said. The flight landed safely,a Mumbai International Airport Limited MIAL spokesperson said here. Jet Airways officials were not available for comment.
Cong activist denies assault by minister
AURANGABAD: A Congress worker on Wednesday denied that he was assaulted by Maharashtra Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies Abdul Sattar. The activist,identified as Mohammed Mushtaq,told the police that he fell down during a scuffle and was not manhandled by the minister here. On Sunday,Sattar had reportedly beaten Mushtaq up following a heated exchange.
2 militants killed in infiltration bid
SRINAGAR: The Army on Wednesday foiled this years first infiltration bid on the Line of Control LoC in North Kashmirs Keran sector. The unidentified militants,the Army said were trying to sneak into the Valley when they were intercepted by the troops at the LoC. Among the six to seven militants,at least two were killed.
Jamp;K footballers on their way to Brazil
SRINAGAR: Two budding football players from Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday left for Brazil. They are to be trained by a club there under the initiative of International Sports Academy Trust ISAT run by an Argentine here. Musadiq Mehraj and Mir Abdul Hanan will have a year-long training stint at Marilie Athletic club in Brazil.
