Chirus son-in-law denied bail in dowry case
HYDERABAD : A local court on Thursday denied bail to G Shirish Bharadwaj,son-in-law of Chiranjeevi,who is facing dowry harassment charges. The 8th Additional Metropolitan sessions court,however,granted anticipatory bail to Shirishs mother T N Suryamangala. K Srija had on March 14 filed a complaint against Shirish and mother-in-law alleging she was being harassed by the duo for the past one year for an additional dowry of Rs 50 lakh.
CISF jawan assaulted,pilot,kin arrested
MUMBAI: A Jet Airways pilot and his brother were on Thursday arrested for allegedly assaulting a CISF jawan deployed at the Mumbai International airport. Jet Airways pilot Zaheer Abbas Killedar 28 and his brother Tauseef 29 had a brawl with CISF jawan over parking their vehicle near the airports Departure Gate A,said Dilip Patil,Senior Inspector at Sahar Airport Police Station.
HC transfers Narayan Ranes son to CBI
MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court on Thursday transferred to CBI the investigations into alleged attack by Nitesh Rane,son of Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane,on an activist of an NGO. Justices A M Khanwilkar and A R Joshi transferred the probe from crime branch to CBI on a petition filed by Chintu Shaikh,who had alleged that Nitesh had shot at him at the NGO office in Mumbai last September.
SpiceJet suspends woman pilot,resigns
NEW DELHI: Garima Passi 24,who was grounded by SpiceJet for acquiring pilot licence using fake documents,resigned on Thursday,a SpiceJet statement said. SpiceJet had suspended Passi in connection with the fake flying licence scam after DGCA found from her evaluation report that she had trouble during flight training in the US
Quash PSA against Andrabi: HC
SRINAGAR : THE Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Thursday quashed the detention of Asiya Andrabi,the chief of the Dukhtaran-e-Millat,under the Public Safety Act PSA. Asiya had been arrested in August last year on the charge of organising last years agitation along with other hardline separatist leaders. Justice Hakeem Imtiyaz Hussain directed the state government to release Andrabi if she was not wanted or required in any other case. Andrabi had challenged her detention in the high court.
Hasan Ali aide in ED custody till March 30
MUMBAI: A special court on Thursday sent Pune businessman Hasan Ali Khans associate Kashinath Tapuriah 75 to Directorate of Enforcement ED custody till March 30 in the alleged money laundering case. The ED arrested Tapuriah on grounds that he had a direct role to play in laundering 8 billion.
