BJP to hit the streets against UPA next week

After cornering the government in Parliament,BJP leaders will hit the streets for the entire next week for a nationwide jail bharo agitation to protest against the alleged misrule of the Congress-led UPA government.

After cornering the government in Parliament,BJP leaders will hit the streets for the entire next week for a nationwide jail bharo agitation to protest against the alleged misrule of the Congress-led UPA government.

The agitation,which will be launched by party president Rajnath Singh here on Monday,will see the partys national leaders fanning across the country to lead protests with a call of BJP lao,desh bachao.

Announcing details of the agitation programme,senior party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that barring BJP chief ministers and some senior leaders like LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi most other senior leaders will be leading protests and courting arrests in different parts of the country to register the partys protest against the UPA government.

The agitation will be held countrywide with an aim of sabka saath,sabka vikas, Naqvi said,announcing the programmes for the different party leaders. Incidentally,sabka saath,sabka vikas was the slogan used by the BJP in Gujarat during the last assembly elections.

According to the programmes,while Rajnath Singh will lead the protests in Delhi,Sushma Swaraj will lead similar protests in Madhya Pradesh and Arun Jaitley in Chandigarh. Gujarat CM Narendra Modis trusted aide Amit Shah will be courting arrest twice,first at Rampur in UP and in Maharashtra with senior party leader Gopinath Munde. Other new general secretaries Varun Gandhi,Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Murli Dhar Rao will be leading protests in Tamil Nadu,Kerala and West Bengal respectively.
