AIR talk on snooker today
The All India Radio, Ahmedabad-Vadodara, will broadcast a talk on Snooker and Billiards8217; by D H Oza, AGM, GNFC on Friday at 9.45 pm.

VHP rally
Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists will take out a Shaurya Rally8217; in the city on December 6 from 5 pm. The rally will start from the Savarkar Chowk, near Jubilee Garden and conclude at the Lokmanya Tilak statue, Anatpura.

Retirement
The state government has accepted the application for voluntary retirement of Dean, Faculty of Commerce, MSU B S Patel. Patel, who retires from his post on December 7, has stated the reasons for retirement as personal. Authorities will now appoint a committee to look into the appointment of the next dean, the decision of which will later be passed to the Syndicate.

By-election
Ranchhod Vasava of the BJP, Jayesh Tadvi of Congress and Satish Vasava of the RJP on Monday filed their nomination papers for the by-election to tribal seat in ward number 26.

Exhibition
A display of 60 prints from the Glasgow Print Studio will be organised by the British Council and Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, from December 5 to 10 at the faculty8217;s exhibition hall at 6.30 pm. Curated by John Machenie, director of the studio, the exhibition features more than 30 Scottish artists David Mach, Adrain Wiszniewski, Elizabeth Blackadder and Dhruva Mistry.

Pool closed
The VMC-run Sardarbaug Swimming Pool will remain closed from December 9 to January 10, 1999 on account of repairs and maintenance, according to a statement.
