
IE to organise Mathematics Olympiad
The Indian Express will organise a Maths Olympiad on November 12 as the sixth inter-school competition for The Indian Express-Pepsi Talent Championship Trophy. Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan V Seshan will conduct the competition. The Olympiad, comprising a written and oral round on non-routine questions, will be held at Bhavan8217;s School at 9.30 am. Schools are requested to send names of their participants to The Indian Express office.
CP8217;s talk today
Police Commissioner Kuldip Sharma will address the Rotary Club of Jawaharnagar on Tuesday on Police and People: Two Sides of the Same Coin8217;. The talk, to be held at Hotel Surya Palace, Sayajigunj at 8 pm, is aimed at making the masses, especially housewives, aware about habitual offenders.
Rly exhibition
An Exhibition on Wheels8217;, highlighting the achievements of the Indian Railways during the past 50 years, will be organised in the Vadodara division of the Western Railways from November 15. The train housing the exhibition will be stationed at the goods siding at Bharuch on November 15 and at the saloon siding at Vadodara on November 16 before going on to Ahmedabad on November 21 and Anand and Nadiad on November 22. At Nadiad and Anand, the display will be held at the respective railway stations.
Assignments
Evaluated assignments of the Indira Gandhi National Open University8217;s Management Programme and Bachelor courses in Arts, Commerce, Science as well as BCA and BPP courses will be distributed to students registered with the city IGNOU study centre on Saturdays, Sundays, Thursdays and Saturdays respectively. Counselling from application oriented courses for BA, BCom, BSc students of the Centre will be held on November 15.

Mandalam days
The Shree Ayyappa Temple, Sama, will celebrate this year8217;s Mandalam days from November 17 to January 15, 1999, considered most auspicious for Lord Ayyappa. Religious programmes will be organised during the period. While the Maladharanam will commence on November 17, the festival will be held between December 22 and 27.
