Last session of women8217;s camp today
The concluding session of a women8217;s training camp on Scientific Methods of Storing Grains8217; along with a celebration of the World Food Day8217; will be jointly organised on Friday at the Milk Co-operative premises, Derol, in Panchmahal district at 8 pm by the Ahmedabad office of the Grains Protection Campaign of the Union Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies, Akashwani Kendra, Vadodara and the Milk Producers8217; Co-operative Society, Derol.

Meeting
State Deputy Mines and Minerals Minister Harjivanbhai Patel will hold a meeting with top officials of the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation GMDC in Chhotaudepur on Friday, an official release said. Patel, the release added, will discuss various issues pertaining to the corporation and later hold a separate meeting with the top officials of Water Supply and Sewerage Board at the Circuit House, Vadodara.

Minister8217;s visit
City Bharatiya Janata Party president Bhupendra Lakhawala and Mayor Bhartiben Vyas will welcome Union Human Resources and Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi at the airport on Saturday at 7 am. At 2 pm, Joshi will participate in a programme organised by the State Government at the Police Parade Ground, behind the District Collectorate. Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, State Labour Minister Ashok Bhatt, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Jaspal Singh and Mayor Bharti Vyas will also be present on the occasion.

Grains seized
District Supply Officials on Wednesday seized unaccounted stocks of grains and pulses worth Rs 3.35 lakh from Mahalaxmi Trading Company, an official spokesman said, adding that a case of hoarding may be registered against shop owner Mahesh Chelani for keeping more stocks than permitted. According to official information, besides the over-stocking of various grains, pulses and even groundnut at the shop, discrepancies had been found in the accounts maintained. An inquiry into the matter is on.

Nominated
State Youth Congress chief Himmatsinh Patel has nominated Amit Pathak as organising secretary of the State Youth Congress unit. A computer engineer by profession, Pathak has been in the organisation for the past five years, a press note stated, adding that as many as five vice-presidents, nine general secretaries, 15 secretaries, 14 organising secretaries and several other office-holders and executives had also been nominated.

Trade fair
A trade-fair was recently organised in the city by the Association of Home Management Alumni AHMA, Faculty of Home Science, M S University. According to a statement released by AHMA president Veena Gandotra, 8220;that a team of women used all their managerial skills and know-how to put up the show was a credit to the women to enter the world of professional marketing8221;.
