Debate Competition, the fourth event of The Indian Express-Pepsi Interschool Talent Championship Trophy will be held on Wednesday at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, EME from 10 am. Spot registrations for the teams will be done at 9.15 am. The topics for the debate are TV Channels Boom 8211; A Boon or Bane8217;, Moral Values in Indians are on a Decline8217;, English Education Versus Gujarati Education8217; and Indians do not Deserve to be Free8217;.

AIR programme
The All India Radio Ahmedabad-Vadodara will broadcast on Saturday a programme of the Special Chief Engineer Generation of the Gujarat Electricity Board GEB. He will answer queries regarding energy audit and how to save electricity. The programme will be broadcast at 7.20 pm in Khedut Mandal. GEB consumers can dial 648495 on every Friday between 7 and 9 pm to ask questions.

Fine recovered
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation recovered fine amounting to Rs 2,700 from encroachers. The fine was recovered on Monday and Tuesday from different parts of the city as the encroachment removal squad cleared 300 unauthorised patharas, 133 kachha sheds, 38 handcarts and other miscellaneous items. The encroachments were cleared from Mandvi, Ghadiyali Pole, Mangal Bazaar, Karelibaug and Munjmahuda.

Councillors8217; plea
The Rashtriya Janata Party councillors have called upon Mayor Bharati Vyas to hold General Board meetings at regular intervals. Councillor Ashwin Thakore, Harish Vaghela and Shankerrao Tandlekar said if the meetings are held at regular intervals they could represent residents8217; grievances and seek answers from the officers.

Acupressure
The Nirmal Acupressure Centre has started a 10-day acupressure camp for women ending September 30 from 3 to 5 pm at 9, LIG Block, Swati Society, New Sama Road. The Centre offers nature cure and acupressure treatment for various ailments.
