DC8217;s directive to cable operators
District Collector Anil Mukim has asked the cable operators to deposit their quarterly entertainment tax dues for the months from January 1999 to March 1999 by April 11 in compliance of the orders issued by him previously.
STD franchisees
General Manager of the Vadodara Telecom District Rakesh Babu has called to attention of franchisees of STD PCOs that the service charge of up to a maximum Rs 2 can be levied only with respect to each successful STD or ISD call only from STD PCOs. The franchisees have been asked to take note that the service charge is not leviable in case of local calls and inter SDCA calls, which are charged on 180 seconds per unit call basis.
New phone nos
The telephone numbers of some officials of the VMC in Ward No 10-J Subhanpura have changed. The new telephone number of Bhailalbhai Shah, PA to Municipal Commissioner, is 390 092 while that of Assistant Municipal Commissioner R P Yagnik is 391498. EDP Officer S J Patel8217;s number has now changed to 393272.
BJP yatras
Two yatras of the BJP, one carrying Narmada waters from Kevadia Colony and the other soil from Bardoli, will arrive here on Wednesday. The kumbhs will be taken to the party8217;s Parivartan rally to be held in Ahmedabad on Friday. In Vadodara, the yatras will be flagged off by city unit chief Bhupendra Lakhawala.
Foundation day
The city unit of the BJP organised a function on Tuesday as part of the party8217;s foundation day celebrations. Minister of State for Forests Prabhatsinh Chauhan, and, GEB Chairman Nalin Bhatt, among others, were present.
