Two doctors held for negligence

GURDASPUR, Oct 29: Police have arrested two Pathankot doctors on charges of causing death by negligence of an accident victim in Pathankot town last weekend.

SSP Gaurav Yadav said today that Dr Suresh Sharma and Dr Vijay were arrested on Tuesday on the charge of dereliction of duty leading to death of Ashwini Kumar, 33, who met with an accident in Pathankot on Satudary. A case was registered against them on Monday but the arrest was delayed for a day because of 8220;pulls and counter-pulls8221; on the poice, Yadav said here.

Admitted to Suresh clinic at Pathankot, Ashwani Kumar was operated on Monday by its surgeons. But when the patient was not brought out from the operation theatre even after three hours, his relatives, suspecting the worst, mobilised support and raised a hue and cry only to learn that the patient had died.
