
ISLAMABAD, FEB 25: The Pakistan tour of the India A8217; side continues to be marred by bad weather as the second day8217;s play of the second four-day Test match was also called off today due to unplayable ground conditions in Peshawar today.
Attempts are, however, being made to convert the three-day fixture match at Lahore from March 2 into a four-day Test match and Pakistan Cricket Board PCB has already sent a proposal to this effect to BCCI, according to PCB chief executive, Majid Khan.
Majid Khan told PTI over phone from Lahore that PCB has already sent the proposal to BCCI for converting the Lahore match into a Test which would start on March 1 if approved by the Indian Board.
The Indian team8217;s manager, K Srikkanth, also confirmed from Peshawar that the proposal has been discussed and both the cricket Boards are discussing the matter before reaching a final decision.He, however, said that the Indian boys are quite excited about this proposal as they expect Lahore match to be played withoutinterruptions as the weather is showing signs of improvements from today.8220;The boys are quite depressed due to continuous bad weather,8221; Srikkanth said.
MUMBAI: The secretary of the BCCI, Jayant Lele, said that the Indian Board had accepted their counterpart8217;s suggestion to change the Peshawar match into a Test after the scheduled second Test was washed out.
