NEW DELHI, December 4: The Delhi Police claim to have arrested three men for forging a bank draft and buying goods worth Rs six lakh with it.
According to the police, Sanjay 22, Syed Aslam 29 and Ram Babu 39 paid Rs 65,000 to an employee of the Indian Overseas Bank in Mathura and bought a blank draft from him. Forging it for Rs six lakhs, they bought 20 Voltas air conditioners from Messers Mist Cold Sales and Services in Lado Sarai.
They would have escaped with it if the Okhla police had not received information that three men were trying to take stolen goods in a Tata 407 tempo. After receiving the tip-off they laid a trap at Mehrauli-Badarpur Road and apprehended the men with the air conditioners. A case has been registered against all three.
