The penta is born

The journey started in Sweden in 1958 when a precocious talent called Arantes de Nascimento or popularly known as Pele fired Brazilians to the pinnacle of World Cup glory. Pele went on to play an instrumental role as Brazil retained the crown in 1962 and eight years later at Mexico they won it for the third time. It was followed by yet another title in 1994 at the USA.

Today at Yokohama in Japan, another talented youngster named Ronaldo emulated his illustrious predecessor with a double strike to give Brazil their Penta 8212; as the Brazilians say in Portuguese. A record fifth World Cup crown.
