Smriti Mandhana: "Very happy. To get close to 180 with the start we got is amazing. Very happy for Gautami, coming after a good show in domestic cricket. I think the attitude she has had from the first game. If the attitude is there to do well, that's the most important thing. For her to do it without the experience, it's a commendable effort. I did mention in the strategic break that 160+ would be good enough. Last year the pitch played very differently and this time it's pretty dry. It's a happy support staff with five different match-winners. Even the others in the XI have contributed. Looking forward to the break. To play 3 games in 4 days with a travel day isn't easy. The message to the girls is to take a couple of days break and come back. We have not been really big on what's going to happen. Credit to our support staff as well. They have kept us really positive."

(PHOTO: CREIMAS FOR WPL)Gujarat Giants (GG) Vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women Highlights: Smriti Mandhana’s high-flying Royal Challengers Bengaluru decimated Ashleigh Gardner’s Gujarat Giants by 61 runs in the Women’s Premier League match at the BCA Stadium Kotambi in Vadodara on Monday.
With this win, RCB also qualified for the playoffs, winning five out of five games in WPL 2026.
Earlier in the match against UP Warriorz, RCB captain Mandhana seemed to have found form, coming to within four runs of scoring the first century of the WPL’s history in 61-ball innings. Almost every component of the RCB squad seems to be in good form as well, whether it be the batters or the bowlers. RCB would also take confidence from their 32-run win over GG in their first face-off this season at Navi Mumbai two days ago.

SCROLL DOWN TO FOLLOW GG VS RCB WPL 2026 MATCH
Nadine de Klerk to finish it off. 65 needed in the last 6 deliveries. Tanuja starts the over with a single. Renuka returns the strike to Tanuja with a single in the following delivery. Kanwer gets a single off the fifth delivery before de Klerk targets one in the block hole. And that's it. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have emphatically won this game, quite comfortably by 61 runs and with that, they are also through to the playoffs with five wins in five matches.
GG: 117/8 in 20 overs - lost by 61 runs
Radha Yadav to bowl the penultimate over of the innings. Renuka and Tanuja Kanwer get a boundary each in this over, taking 11 from it.
GG: 114/8 in 19 overs
Shreyanka Patil in the attack, with her last over. OUT! Bharat Fulmali falls and it's just formalities left now. Slower one from Patil, Fulmali goes for a wild slog and finds Grace Harris at long-on. Just three from Patil's last over as well. She ends her spell with figures reading 4-0-19-1.
Bharti Fulmali c Grace Harris b Shreyanka Patil 14(15)
GG: 103/8 in 18 overs
Sayali Satghare is back into the attack. Will complete her quota in this over. OUT! Ash Gardner leans sideways, plays way away from her body and slices it to backward point fielder Prema Rawat. End of a rearguard action from Gardner. She departs after scoring 54. Tanuja Kanwer is in the middle now. Sayali welcomes her with a waist-height full-toss; she navigates for a single. 100 up for Gujarat.
Ashleigh Gardner c Prema Rawat b Sayali Satghare 54(43)
GG: 100/7 in 17 overs
Lauen Bell to finish her quota. SIX! Gardner shuffles across, gets under the line of the delivery and smokes it down the ground for a maximum. A single off the following delivery gets Gardner to her fifty. These runs have come in adverse conditions.
Shreyanka with her third over. Bharat Fulmali gets a FOUR! 10 off this over.
The duo of Bharati Fulmali and Ash Gardner is showing little fight. Won't be enough to change the course of the game, but Gujarat are making sure they are not going down without a fight.
GG: 95/6 in 16 overs
Ash Gardner finally gets something to cheer. She takes on Radha Yadav and slams her for three FOURS in the over to take 14 from this one. Too late, too little perhaps. With the game as good as gone, Gujarat could play for self-respect.
GG: 72/6 in 14 overs
Shreyanka Patil continues to be miserly with the ball. Another over with just three coming from it.
Nadine de Klerk replaces Radha Yadav from the other end. OUT! Change of bowlers, but the wickets continue to tumble for Gujarat. Poor show from the bat. They have been an average batting side on a venue where none of the chasing sides have ever lost a game. Wareham falls this time as she holes out to Sayali Satghare at mid-wicket.
Wareham c Sayali Satghare b Nadine de Klerk 2(6)
GG: 58/6 in 13 overs
Shreyanka Patil joins the attack after the drinks break. She bowls a quick and a quite over to give just three from her first over.
Radha Yadav continues from the other end. OUT! Gujarat continue to implode in the chase. Kashvee Gautam goes for a big heave and has been cleaned up. Georgia Wareham is the new batter in. Fifty up for Gujarat in the 12th over.
GG: 52/5 in 11 overs
Nadine de Klerk to continue from one end. Gujarat are struggling for every run here. Just two singles from the first delivery before Gardner gets a FOUR, only after Radha fumbled it at the fence. Still only six from the ninth over. The asking rate has crossed 12.
GG: 45/4 in 9 overs
Radha Yadav in the attack now. Kashvee Gautam is in at No. 6. FOUR! After three dot deliveries, Ash Gardner gets something to cheer for. A thick outside edge runs past the slip at third man for a boundary. Just five from Radha's first over.
GG: 39/4 in 8 overs
First change in the bowling attack. Nadine de Klerk is into the attack in place of Lauren Bell. Both batters are looking for strike rotation and get six runs through four singles and a couple off the first five deliveries. OUT! de Klerk strikes in her first over. The bottom hand comes off when Anushka slices it straight to Radha at sweeper cover. It has all gone wrong for the home side until now.
Anushka Sharma c Radha Yadav b Nadine de Klerk 18(20)
GG 34/4 in 7 overs
Sayali Satghare with her third over as well. FOUR! Third boundary for Anushka in last three overs. Short ball, way outside off and Anushka has a lot of room to throw the kitchen sink at this one and slashes it over point. A dot followed by four singles. 8 off the over. 29 after the end of Powerplay for Gujarat.
GG: 29/3 in 6 overs
Lauren Bell with her third over. FOUR! Anushka is growing in confidence. Length ball on off, Anushka stays back, hold great shape and cuts it over point for a boundary to start the over. Nine from the over.
GG: 21/3 in 5 overs
Sayali Satghare continues. Two new batters in the middle - Anushka Sharma and skipper Ash Gardner. Gujarat are pushed back immediately in the chase. FOUR! Good, cricketing shot. Full on off and Sharma lofts it over mid-off for a good-looking boundary. A single for Anushka before Gardner gets off the mark.
GG: 12/3 in 4 overs
Lauren Bell continues. OUT! Kanika Ahuja is the next one to fall. Full, inswinging for the left-hander, Ahuja looks to flick but the ball crashes onto the stumps off the pads. Just one from this over as well.
Kanika Ahuja b Lauren Bell 0(3)
GG: 5/3 in 3 overs
Sayali Satghare from the other end. OUT! CLEANED UP! Length ball on off and, nipped back enough to go through Mooney's defences. Big wicket, more importantly early wicket for RCB. Anushka Sharma is in at No. 3. She gets off the mark with a single after playing a couple of dots. OUT! Another big wicket. In-fom Sophie Devine departs on 0. Great start for RCB. Again a length ball on middle and off, Devine pulls it straight to Georgia Voll at deep mid-wicket. Top over from Sayali Satghare.
GG: 4/2 in 2 overs
Beth Mooney b Sayali Satghare 3(4); Sophie Devine c Georgia Voll b Sayali Satghare 0(4)
Beth Mooney gets a couple off the first delivery to get off the mark. She gets a single before playing a dot. Top over from Bell, who ends with three more dot deliveries.
GG: 3/0 in 1 over
Gujarat Giants openers Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine are in the middle. Lauren Bell will operate with the new ball.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru would feel confident of defending the total. They have in-form Lauren Bell, who has been phenomenal with the new ball. On the other hand, Gujarat would be equally confident to chase it down, having scored three 180+ totals in the tournament
Kashvee Gautam to bowl the final over. Nadine de Klerk gets a single off the first ball. FOUR! Radha is playing a very good hand towards the fag end of the innings. She clears the cover region to get a boundary. FOUR MORE! Clever from Radha this time. Shuffles in the crease, Gautam looks to target the legs but Radha flicks it fine for a second boundary. OUT! Radha falls this time. Slower one from Gautam, Radha holes out straight to Fulmali mid-off. Shreyanka Patil is the new batter in. FOUR! First ball boundary for Patil. Slower again, outside off but Patil shuffles across, stays low and sweeps it towards the deep backward square leg. FOUR! Fourth boundary for RCB, second in a row for Patil who helps her team end on high. 17 off the last over. A great fighting total for the Women in Red and Black. Game on!
RCB: 178/6 in 20 overs
RCB crosses the 150-mark in the 18th over. Anything above 175 would be a good total considering the average score at this venue is 156. Sophie Devine to bowl the penultimate over. An error in the line from her and she starts with a wide. SIX! Radha Yadav goes big! Reads the slower one, stays on backfoot and pulls to clear the deep square leg fence. 10 from this over. RCB could eye 175 now.
RCB: 161/5 in 19 overs
Gardner to bowl out now and Gautami with a boundary to start this one off!! AAAND SHE'S GONE THE NEXT BALL!! Gardner cleans her up!! Great comeback.
Gautami Naik b Ashleigh Gardner 73(55)
Devine now to stem the run flow and she makes Richa blink as the batter tries to play down the ground, misses and the ball has gone past everyone for 4 byes. 2 singles follow while the over ends with a WICKET!!! Full toss and Richa plays it straight down the throat of Gardner. Richa waits as the check is on if the ball was above the waist as she reviews. Looks ok and the third umpire concurs. Big wicket for GG.
Richa Ghosh c Ashleigh Gardner b Sophie Devine 27(20)
On to the 16th over and Tanuja will continue. not a great return as she is smacked for a SIXXX by Richa off the second delivery. Goes again but this time, it's just a single. The 50-run partnership is up. Almost a run out but a fumble near the stumps saves the partnership. Ohhh dear god!!! The last ball is hit straight and that's over the head of Devine, who was near the ropes, for a SIX!!!
RCB 131/3 after 16 overs
Kashvee back in the attack now and Gautami cuts the first ball for a four!! She is growing in confidence at the moment. Takes a single next and Richa is on strike who takes a single of her own. Gautami with a straight shot next as the ball barrels towards the boundary before a leaping Ash Gardner saves it!!
RCB 114/3 after 15 overs
Gardner in the attack now and Gautami completes a half century after taking a single off the first ball. Ohhh and she was almost gone but Kashvee drops the catch near long off!! Gautami runs salt to GG's wound with a four off the very next ball!! And there's an LBW review on Richa now. Looks very very close. No bat involved and wickets are missing!!! Wow.
RCB 105/3 after 14 overs
Tanuja Kanwer now introduced in the attack now. Can she conjure up some magic? Good little over with just 2 from the first 4 deliveries. Just 3 from this one ultimately.
RCB 96/3 after 13 overs
On to the 12th over now and Wareham has been brought into the attack. Gautami with a shot to long on but there's a fielder there to keep it down to just a single. Richa on strike and she goes over the in-field but smart fielding placement by GG ensures that it's another single as well. Gautami cuts the next one and finally she gets the better of the onrushing fielder for a boundary!! And Richa ends the over with a maximum!!
RCB 93/3 after 12 overs
Skipper Ash Gardner is back into the attack. OUT! Smriti Mandhana falls! She has been trapped in front for LBW. The on-field decision was not out but a great review by Gardner, who gets a big scalp. Gujarat are ahead in the contest after the first 10 overs.
Smriti lbw b Ashleigh Gardner 26(23)
RCB: 73/3 in 10 overs
Sophie Devine is into the attack now. FOUR! Naik with her fourth boundary. Slams down the ground for a four and these are much-needed runs for RCB at the moment. Nice recovery from Devine, who gives just three from her last five deliveries.
RCB: 66/2 in 9 overs
Happy Kumari has been brought into the attack. She starts with a wide down the leg, which brings up 50 for RCB. FOUR! Naik is gaining confidence now. Crunches off backfoot past mid-off for her third boundary. Three singles and one more wide make it a 10-run over.
RCB: 59/2 in 8 overs
Renuka to finish her quota, bowls her fourth straight over. SIX! Gautami is in the act now. After a four in the previous over, she gets a maximum this time to start the over on a perfect note. Full and swinging in for the right-hander, Naik gets into the position and lofts it with a flick towards deep square leg. FOUR! Mandhana this time. Uses her backlift, swivel pull for a boundary to keep up the ante. A single to finish a good over for RCB. 12 off it.
RCB: 49/2 in 7 overs
Kashvee Gautam is back in the attack in place of Ash Gardner. FOUR! A baundary for Gautami Naik. She times her drive well, gets it through the gap at the cover point region for a boundary. Still only five from this over. End of PowerPlay, Bengaluru manage 37 off it.
RCB: 37/2 in 6 overs
Renuka Singh, with her third over, bowls another tidy one. Just a couple of singles and a two for a four-run over.
RCB: 32/2 in 5 overs
Gujarat skipper Ash Gardner is in the attack now. She replaces Kashvee Gautam. It's skipper vs skipper to start things in this over. Starts with a dot. FOUR! Wide and cut away by Mandhana and she is helped by Kashvee Gautam who made a poor attempt in the point and failed to save the shot. FIVE WIDES! Poor line from Gardner, who bowled way down the leg to gift five runs. FOUR! Lovely placement from Mandhana who pulled it late but nicely to get another boundary from this over. Big over, 14 for RCB.
RCB: 27/2 in 4 overs
Renuka Singh Thakur with her second over. Gautami Naik joins Mandhana at No. 4. Mandhana starts the over with a single. Naik gets going with a single, too. Lovely over from Renuka, who tested the patience of the batters in the middle. Three singles and one wide make it a four-run over.
RCB: 13/2 in 3 overs
Kashvee Gautam with the new ball from the other end. Georgia Voll is in at No. 3. Mandhana has the strike, though. FOUR! Ah, lovely cover drive from Mandhana, who starts the over with a boundary. Full, in the middle, and Mandhana presses forward, plays through the covers. She gets a single and Voll is off the mark with a single straight away. OUT! Voll gone now! Two in two! Length ball, nipped back in and goes through Voll's lazy defence. Gujarat are off to a great start.
Georgia Voll b Kashvee Gautam 1(3)
RCB: 9/2 in 2 overs
Renuka Singh Thakur to start proceedings with the white new ball for Gujarat. Grace Harris has the strike. Renuka starts with a gentle inswinger, and it's defended by Harris to begin cautiously. She gets off the mark in the following delivery with a single. Skipper Smriti Mandhana has the strike now. She, too, is off the mark after playing a couple of dots. OUT! Renuka strikes early, and it's the big wicket of Harris. Pitched up, in the middle and Harris chips straight to the hands of Arshleigh Gardner at mid-on. Early, quite early breakthrough for GG.
Grace Harris c Ashleigh Gardner b Renuka Singh 1(3)
RCB: 2/1 in 1 overs
We are all set for the live action! RCB openers Grace Harris and Smriti Mandhana are walking out, and so are the players of Gujarat Giants, the home team in Vadodara.
Unbeaten in the tournament thus far with four wins in as many matches, RCB are just one win away from securing a spot in the finals. A win against GG today would make her the first finalist already.
Ash Gardner: We are going to bowl. It's awesome to have what seems like a home-supportive crowd. No doubt RCB will get a lot of support. Two changes. Anushka comes back after her hand injury and Happy makes her debut tonight. The batters have to do the job here as it's a high-scoring game. But firstly the bowlers need to keep it simple and keep the stumps in play. Hopefully, we can take early wickets and finish off the way we wanted to.
Smriti Mandhana: Doing simple things right. I didn't know that. We have always focused on taking one game at a time. It's a group that has a lot of energy. We are going with the same side.
Gujarat Giants: Beth Mooney(w), Sophie Devine, Anushka Sharma, Kanika Ahuja, Ashleigh Gardner(c), Georgia Wareham, Kashvee Gautam, Bharti Fulmali, Tanuja Kanwer, Happy Kumari, Renuka Singh Thakur.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Grace Harris, Smriti Mandhana(c), Georgia Voll, Richa Ghosh(w), Gautami Naik, Nadine de Klerk, Radha Yadav, Prema Rawat, Shreyanka Patil, Sayali Satghare, Lauren Bell.
Gujarat Giants skipper Ashleigh Gardner got the right call. She won the toss and elected to bowl first. Makes sense for the Gujarat Giants, considering the chasing-friendly venue.

Before Friday’s contest, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had relied heavily on individual brilliance to get them over the line in two contrasting wins. Nadine de Klerk’s rescue act against Mumbai Indians and Grace Harris’ blazing knock versus UP Warriorz had masked their middle-order fragility. Against Gujarat Giants (GG), however, it was time for that vulnerability to be tested and under pressure, they, along with Shreyanka Patil, delivered to help beat GG by 32 runs to maintain their winning start in Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026.
