Produced by the owner of WWF that is, the World Wrestling Federation, directed by a man whose only other directing credit is one TV episode of Extreme Wrestling Championship, starring a man who will forever bring to mind The Terminator, and titled The Marine can8217;t say the film springs any surprises on you.

So this Marine rescues two precious American soldiers, single-handedly, from an al-Qaeda compound in Iraq they will find al-Qaeda there eventually, give or take one more war. But what happens when he disobeys a direct order? You are right. He is dismissed.

What happens when that Marine gets back home? Right again. He gets a job as a security guard.

How long does it take for him to get fed up, pick up a fight and be fired? Bingo. One day.

How long before he finds a mission that only a Marine can accomplish, ahead of an entire state8217;s police? Another day.

If The Marine packs a punch, it is in the composition of the gang of thieves. There is constant, and at times surprisingly spot-on, friction between them, with Rome played by Robert Patrick, of The Terminator nicely using one against the other.

As Rome himself keeps taking risks, in the belief that he can get away with them, it is easy to see that this gang is headed down.

But, of course, since this film is called The Marine, we never get to that stage. Instead John Cena, whose biceps show move animation than his face, finishes the gang off personally and brutally. There are at least four explosions and fires along the way, and he walks 8220;through8221; each, unscathed.

One last question: how long before you figured that one out?
