AHMEDABAD, Sept 7: A study group of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour is arriving on a two-day visit to the city on Tuesday to discuss labour problems in the State. The committee will be headed by Harin Pathak, MP of Ahmedabad. The venue of the meeting has been shifted to the general hospital, Bapunagar and Provident Fund office, Ashram Road from Hotel Trident.
In view of the change of place, the labour cell of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee has withdrawn its boycott call of the committee. However, in a release on Monday, president of the GPCC labour cell Ashok Panjabi said that it would submit a memorandum to the committee on the issue of not inviting many labour unions of the State on the occasion. Kamdar Swasthya Suraksha Mandal has decided to welcome the committee. In a release on Tuesday it hoped that the committee would seriously review the labour problems of the State.
