COLOMBO, Aug 25: Sri Lanka8217;s top sprinter and Asia8217;s fastest woman Susanthika Jayasinghe today received a call for the national duty when her name was included in the Kuala Lumpur-bound squad for the next month8217;s Commonwealth Games.

Silver medalist at the Athens World Athletic Championship last year, Jayasinghe was cleared of doping charges by International Amateur Athletic Federation IAAF, last week.

This prompted the Sri Lankan Amateur Athletic Association AAA to include her name despite the National Olympic Association having finalised the squad for the Games a fortnight ago.

Susanthika8217;s participation will boost medal hopes for Sri Lanka though she is yet to reach anywhere near her best showing this year.

8220;Her name was included in the list of athletes despite IAAF clearing her name long after the Commonwealth squad had been finalised,8221; AAA president, RE Kannangara was quoted as saying on the state radio today.

IAAF had temporarily banned her from participating in any international meets after she was tested positive in a random test in April. The suspension was lifted only on the condition that she undergo doping tests every three months.

The sprinter herself did not comment on whether she would be ready to take part in the Games, in view of very short time available at her disposal for training.
