
Youth8217;s body recovered
The dead body of one Ramesh Bhagwan Satwara, a resident of Bagsara village of Kukavaav taluka of Amreli district, was recovered by the Varachha police from an underbridge at Lambe Hanuman Road
Satwara 22 had come to the city a couple of months earlier to stay with his relatives, the police said adding that although the reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained, the body has been sent to the New Civil hospital for scientific examination. The Varachha police have registered a case under Criminal Procedure Code 174 and are investigating.
Fake note
Officials of the the Shahpore branch of the Bank of Baroda lodged a complaint against a person, who tried to deposit a counterfeit note in the bank on Monday, the Chowk Bazaar police said. The complaint was lodged against one Narottambhai L Patel, an employee of the J J School at Shahpore, who tried to deposit a fake Rs 500 note along with a bundle of other notes in the bank, the police added. A case under section 489 a has been registered at the Chowk Bazaar police station and is being investigated.
Vehicle theft
The Chowk Bazaar police have registered a case of vehicle theft on Tuesday, after Rajendra Tekar, a resident of Subhashnagar beside Udhna Yard, lodged a complaint on Tuesday morning in the police station. Tekar told the police that he had parked his scooter GJ 5 DD 6969 in the parking lot of Surat Municipal Corporation at Muglisara, from where it was stolen on Monday evening. The police have registered a case under section 379 and are investigating.
