Advani to lay foundation stone
Union Home Minister L K Advani will lay the foundation stone of the stage-II of Kawas combined cycle power project nominal capacity 650 MW on December 13. While the function will be held at 11 am, Union Minister for Power P R Kumarmangalam, Union Textiles Minister Kashiram Rana and State Minister for Energy and Urban Development Kaushik Patel will be present on the occasion.

Memo submitted
The Surat Shaher Larri Galla Mandal has demanded that the SMC allow larri galla owners to operate in the city. The mandal threatened to launch an agitation if the civic body did not allow larri gallas to operate in Chowk Bazaar, Athwa Lines and Chowpati area. In a memorandum submitted to the civic chief, the Mandal has accused the civic staff of seizing their larri gallas and charging them heavy penalty.

Registered youth mandals, who have done developmental work at village level, societies or among youths by generating employment, should apply to the Nehru Yuva Kendra, 106, Gangotri Apartment, Kubernagar-1, Katargam before December 15 for the Shrest Mandal Yuvak Purshkar8217;. The Puruskar carries a cash award of Rs 5000.

Play on Saturday
Adhikar8217; a play will be staged at Rang Upvan in Vyara taluka on December 12 at 8 pm. The play, being staged by the state government to create awareness among the people, will be staged again at Bharundi in Olpad taluka on the next day.

Inauguration
Vadodara: Mayor Bharti Vyas on Thursday inaugurated the South zone office of Vadodara Municipal Corporation8217;s ward number 4. The new office will employ a staff of 89 VMC officials. Only the East and North offices of the ward now remain to be opened.
