Stop sign

The bureaucracy in Rajasthan is up for something unusual. All officers heading divisions and departments have been instructed by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to keep a plaque on their desk that says “The Buck Stops Here”. While the officers of the state do not fail to tom-tom their good performances, with Rajasthan successfully implementing all the schemes proposed by the Congress-led Central Government, there is a question that hangs over their head. Where would the buck stop if Lok Sabha elections, looming large on the horizon, were to throw up some surprises?
