HYDERABAD, June 25: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday summoned the original script and running script of the Hindi film Border, which was recently released for public exhibition.

Justice B K Somasekhara passed the order while dealing with a writ petition filed by Lt Col Khursid Hussain, that the makers of the movie incorrectly depicted the Indo-Pak war of 1971 in the film. The petitioner alleged that the movie showed the commanding officer of Longowala Sector as having ordered his troops either to retreat or desert. The petitioner who worked as commanding officer of the sector denied the incident. The judge posted the matter to July 3 for further hearing.

TDP8217;s Chaitanya Yatra from July 1

HYDERABAD: The ruling Telugu Desam Party will conduct a state-wide Chaitanya Yatra from July 1 to 7, to enlighten the public about the achievements of the 22-month rule of the party. The Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, said that the government had introduced numerous innovations in administration to reduce red-tape and fix responsibility. He said the social welfare measures taken by the earlier governments had plunged the state into a financial crisis.

565-crore forest project in Karnataka

SHIMOGA: A Rs 565 crore project designed for forest development would be launched in Karnataka with the assistance of the Japanese Government on June 27, according to the state forest minister, Gurupadappa Nagmarpalli. He said, 8220;The eastern plain project8221; would help forest development and environmental conservation activities in dry land areas, benefitting 135 taluks in 17 districts.

Kerala Govt takes over Sivagiri Mutt

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Government has temporarily taken over the administration of the Sivagiri Mutt at Varkala, about 35 km from here. This followed the formation of rival administrative committees by two groups of sanyasins, which caused a tense situation there.Officials said the government had appointed the deputy collector here as the receiver for the administration of the Mutt.
