NEW DELHI:
An earthquake of slight intensity hit the Indo-China border Saturday morning.

Measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, the quake was felt at 7.51 am with epicentre at 35.8 degree North latitude and 78.6 degree East longitude, a meteorology department release said here.

Police commando killed in Manipur
IMPHAL:
A police commando and an insurgent were killed in a shootout at Khongman area in Imphal East district, official sources said here Saturday. A police team was fired at by two activists of the banned People8217;s Liberation Army PLA at Khongman area on the outskirts of Imphal Friday evening, killing a police commando, identified as Ch Sanatomba.

Nagpur college students drown
NAGPUR:
Three students from a local Arts college on Friday drowned in the Vainganga river near Korambhi, about 60 km from here in adjoining Bhandara district, police said. According to range police here, the three had gone for a picnic with other students when themishap occurred. The bodies were later recovered by local fishermen. The deceased have been identified as Sunil Belsare, Hitendra Larokar and Durgesh Jagtap, police said.

Heroin worth Rs 2 crore seized
CHENNAI:
Narcotics Department officials seized two kg of heroin, valued at Rs 2 crore in the international market, from three persons in Erode in Tamil Nadu on Friday. The three persons, who had come to dispose of the heroin to a local buyer in front of a hotel were arrested by Narcotics Intelligence Bureau officials.
