CUTTACK: Legendary theatre personality Kartik Ghosh, who dominated the Oriya stage for over five decades, died at his residence here yesterday following prolonged illness, according to family sources. Ghosh, 94, is survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters. He had won the Orissa Sahitya Academy and Utkal Sangita Academy award for his outstanding contribution to drama and literature. Ghosh had also been honoured with the Kelucharan award8217;.

Quake rocks north-eastern region

NEW DELHI: An earthquake of minor intensity hit the north-eastern part of the country last night. The earthquake of slight intesity8217; measured 4.3 on the Richter scale, a release of the meteorological department said here today. The quake, which occured at 2103 hours IST, had its epicentre at latitude 26.5 degree north and longitude 93.3 degree east, near Assam, the release added.

St Kitts trial proceeding adjourned

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court today adjourned trial proceeding in the St Kitts forgery case, in which fromer prime minister P V Narasimha Rao, former Union minister K K Tiwary, tantrik Chandrasami and his aide, Kailash Nath Aggarwal, are accused, till tomorrow. Special judge Ajit Bharihoke adjourned the case after hearing reply on the point of charge from counsel for Chandraswami.
