Statements malicious

CHANDIGARH, May 26: Some members of the Rajinder Deepa group today stated that the Panjab University Vice-Chancellor8217;s office issued motivated, false and malicious statements with regard to the proceedings of the Syndicate yesterday.

In a joint statement here today, Randeep Surjewala, Deepa, Ashok Goyal and Dr S.S. Hundal stated, quot;the PU cannot be managed in its present sorry state of affairs and the immediate intervention of the Chancellor is required.quot;

The members pointed out that the university authorities had repeatedly forestalled decisions on important issues affecting the quot;academic and administrative well being of the university.quot;

It was added that the quot;indefinite adjournment of the meeting by the V-C in a huff and without provocation was the final straw.quot;
