
SOLAPUR, March 16: A few hundred question papers of the Secondary School Certificate SSC examinations were found missing from Ravji Sakharam High School, here.
About 290 question papers for Marathi as well as English medium students were found short of the quantity mentioned by the SSC Board officials in Pune, according to a first information report lodged by centre in-charge Chitralekha Kanade with the Faujdar Chawade police, today.
Question papers of History, Geography and Economics for English medium and Geometry papers for Marathi medium besides papers of Marathi and English languages were found missing. No clue was available on whether the missing papers was a lapse on the part of the SSC Board or a case of theft.
A team lead by a senior Board official visited the school later in the evening and has started a probe. Some 94 boxes containing question papers and answer sheets were sent to the Ravji Sakharam High School last week and were kept under lock and key at the school, it was stated. The room had been opened for various reasons since Saturday under necessary vigilance, the school authorities told the police.
ENS adds from Ahmednagar: In a similar incident reported from Rahuri in Ahmednagar, question papers for Science I were found short at Shivajinagar examination centre. The question paper packet which was supposed to contain 47 question papers was found to have only ten copies when the pack was opened in the examination hall, reports said.
