Deputy commissioner of police, zone-VI, S T Bodhke and other senior officers had rushed to Sri Krupa building at Tata Colony Road after the residents informed at around 6.40 pm that no one was responding from inside the flat no. 263. The door was forced open by the police.
While Shantaram Kashinath Shedge was lying on the floor his son Vivek was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Both were dead for hours, according to a senior officer. Vivek had left a suicide note in Marathi in which he noted the time of death to be 4.30 pm.
Vivek had written in the note that since his father hadkilled his mother he has no right to live. After the death of both his parents, he was killing himself. While the mother8217;s death was reportedly natural, Vivek all along suspected that his father had arranged8217; for her death.

He was in love with a girl living in the vicinity though she never reciprocated his feelings. Even on Monday afternoon, he tried to commit suicide after closing his room from inside but his relatives intervened in the nick of time and were able to dissuade him from ending his life. However, in the evening when he and his father were alone, he took the extreme step of killing his father and then himself.
