Six arrested for murdering scribe

DHANBAD, August 11: Six persons were arrested from a colliery area, near here, last evening for the killing of Kameshwar Tiwari, freelance journalist of a local Hindi daily on May 7.

Police said firearms were also recovered from the arrested persons who had allegedly shot Tiwari dead at Jitpur, about 10 km from here.

Tiwari was 8220;probably8221; killed for reporting on a gang rape case four years ago, police said. The persons, allegedly involved in the gang rape, had later been arrested following his report.
