Athletics meet postponedPoona Sports Athletic Club has postponed its sub-junior district level athletic meet to February 12 and 13, due to some technical problems. The meet was original slated to be held from February 6 to 7.The meet is being held under the auspices of the Pune District Amateur Athletic Association and is expecting the participation of about 2000 athletes in a total of 12 age groups for girls and boys.The top three participants in each age group will get medals while the rest of the athletes will take home participation certificates.All athletes should carry their I-cards or bonafide age certificates. The last date for entries is February 10. Those interested may contact Anwar Shaikh at the Ammunition Factory ground, Khadki Bazaar.Manisha takes National goldCadet Captain Manisha Sandbhor of Modern College bagged the National gold medal and trophy in the Republic Day Yatching Regatta held recently. Manisha was among the six cadets selected by the Maharashtra NCC Directorate for the camp held at INS Chilka, Orissa.She now advances into the overall championship. Manisha trains under the guidance of NCC officer Sub Lt. AM Vankalas.
