Haryana win Karate team title
Haryana Yaatosae Martial Art won the team Kumite of the third National Karate-do championship organised by Jawaharlal Nehru National Youth Centre Ghaziabad.

Results: Gold Medal girls: Neelu Mishra, Rekha Paharwa, Rama Yadav, Deepa Sharma, Sunita Malik, Shivani Saini, Arti Pathak.

Ashok, Naveen shine
Fine knock by Ashok Chadha 75 and deadly bowling by Naveen 5 for 18 helped Pappal XI prevail over Delhi Administration by 14 runs in the semi-final of second Alok Memorial tournament.

Brief Scores: Pappal XI: 192 for 8 Ashok Chadha 75, Vishal Razdan 39, Suraj 33, Ajay Rawat 30. Delhi Administration: 178 Anil 45, JS Bist 35, Naveen 5 for 18, Naresh Pandey 3 for 22.

Fine spell by Rahul
A fine spell by Rahul Ashopa 6 for 26 helped Maharaj Agarsen Public School triumph over St Michale8217;s School by five wickets in the fifth Brother Ambrose Memorial tournament at Mont Fort School Ashok Vihar.

Vivek Suri was the top scorer for the winners while Abhishek Tandon 40, Saurabh Anand 36 contributed for the losers.

Brief Scores: Maharaj Agarsen Public School: 126 for 5 in 23 overs Vivek Suri 20 not out, Saurabh Anand beat St Michael8217;s: 124 Abhishek Tandan 40, Saurabh Anand 36, Rahul Ashopa 6 for 26.

Crown for judokas
Senior and junior boys of Delhi judo team won the championship of All India judo meet organised by Delhi Judo Kan Club while Haryana clinched the second position in junior boys and Madhya Pradesh in senior boys category. Gujrat got the third place in both the sections.

In the sub-junior category, Gujrat claimed first postion while Delhi and Madhya Pradesh placed in the second and third position,respectively.

In karate, Delhi finished with a gold while Haryana and Madhya Pradesh finished in that order behind them. Delhi also won the taek-wondu and arm wrestling championship besides aerobics and darts.

Chennai University win
Chennai University prevailed over Kerala University 5-4 in a preliminary round match of the All-India Inter-University football championship for women at the Guru Nanak Dev University Sports Complex, according to information. The match was decided through tie-breaker after both teams failed to score at the end of the regulation time. Earlier, Kerala University had defeated G.G.S. University, Bilaspur, 2-0 to set up clash with Chennai University.

Sports meet for women
Around 1,200 players from various parts of the country will vie for top honours in the 23rd National sports meet for women to be held at Kurukshetra8217;s Dronacharya Stadium from January 7. Competitions will be held in four disciplines 8212; gymnastics, hockey, kho-kho and basketball 8212; during the four-day meet, according to a press release.

Ministry football
Ministry of Agriculture triumphed over Ministry of President8217;s Secretariat 3-1 in the inter-ministry football toornament at Vinay Marg ground. Striker Kuldip Singh 2 and Purushottam Kumar scored for the winners while Afsar scored for the losers.
