Dighe is deputy to Tendulkar

Wicket-keeper Sameer Dighe has been made deputy to Sachin Tendulkar for Mumbai8217;s Ranji campaign for the forthcoming season. Dighe would lead when Tendulkar is away on National duty, decided the Mumbai Cricket Association selectors who also announced the probables today.

The probables: Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli, Samir Dighe, Amol Muzumdar, Jatin Paranjpe, Amit Pagnis, Manoj Joglekar, Wasim Jaffer, Amol Rane, Manish Bangera, Sushant Manjrekar, Nishit Shetty, Paras Mhambrey, Ajit Agarkar, Santosh Saxena, Sriram Kannan, Swapnil Hazare, Sairaj Bahutule, Nilesh Kulkarni, Rajesh Pawar, Faisal Shaikh, Shreyas Khanolkar, Rajesh Sutar, Atul Ranade, Jagdish Shetty, Mandar Phadke, Vishal Tawade, Naushad Khan and Abey Kuruvilla.

Juniors8217; squash entries today

The first leg of the inaugural Air-India juniors squash tournament will be held from September 24-27 at Otters, Willingdon Sports Club and CCI. Three other legs will follow 8212; October 28-31, December16-19, February 3-6, 2000 8212; and the top eight players in each age group will qualify for the grand final, from February 17-20. Last day for entries in all age groups 8212; Boys and girls U-19, U-17, U-15, U-13 amp; U-11 is September 16. Entries can be faxed to 4938734 or sent to Steffi, c/o Mid-Day. SRAM membership is compulsory for entrants.

SNDT8217;s personality development

The SNDT Department of Physical Education will conduct the sports Personality development programme for college students at SNDT Juhu Campus, Santa Cruz W, on September 18 and 19 from 9 am to 5 pm. Kindly enrol latest by Friday. For details contact Tel 203 1879 Ext 261.
