Mumbai-Pune cycle race

Last year8217;s winner Sanjay Maral of Bharat Cycling Club Pune, along with the cream of paddlers from across the country will fight for honours in the 20th edition of the country8217;s richest Mumbai-Pune cycle race being sponsored by Balsara, to be flagged off on Sunday.

Briefing reporters Maharashtra Cycling Association MCA honorary secretary Pratap Jadhav said a record number of 109 entries from all over the country have been confirmed with maximum 55 cyclist from Mumbai will be in the fray. The race will be flagged off from Mayor8217;s Bungalow in Mumbai.

A total prize money of Rs 31,000 is at stake, with the winner8217;s share being Rs 7,500, the runner-up getting Rs 6,500.

Motilal Sanghi Squash from today

The 26th Motilal Sanghi Inter-Club Squash Championship gets under way at various venues in the city from Friday. The highlight of the tournament this year is the opportunity of a junior player to win Rs 25,000 in the form of air-ticket and expenses to participate inan event in South East Asia.The event will be held for juniors, ladies and masters groups. The venues for these matches are the Cricket Club of India CCI, Willingdon Gymkhana, Leela, United Services Club and Otters. Six teams have entered for the junior team event Bombay Gymkhana, United Services, Willingdon, Otters, CCI, Jindal while five for women and six teams for Masters have confirmed participation.
