MUMBAI, MARCH 1: Parikshit Shetty of Otters Club dazzled by setting six new records in the boys under-13 category in the ITI Open State-level swimming championship held at the ITI pool over the weekend.

An equally fine performance came from Tejasvi Shetty (JVP) in the girls under-15 section. She smashed five old records.

The other swimmer to corner the limelight was Kalwa’s Aditya Sangvekar who sunk four records in the boys under-9 group.

Shetty’s records came in the 200m individual medley (2:24.84 sec), 100m backstroke (1:09.65), 50m freestyle (0:27.43), 100m butterfly (1:08.13), 100m backstroke (1:16.32) and 100m freestyle (1:00.06).

Tejasvi improved records in the 200m individual medley (2:37.46), 100m backstroke (1:14.42), 50m freestyle (0:29.24), 200m freestyle (2:18.51) and 100m freestyle (1:03.14).

Sangvekar set new timings in the 50m backstroke (0:39.29), 50m freestyle (0:34.39), 50m breaststroke (0:42.56) and 50m butterfly (0:34.55).

Narvekar dazzles

An unbeaten knock of 35 by NNarvekar helped HDFC beat Castrol by two runs in the Champions Cup of the Mahindra Realty Cricket 7s at the Western Railway Stadium, Mahalaxmi, over the weekend.
