CALCUTTA, SEPT 22: The two-day 69th Annual General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI, which will commence here tomorrow, is unlikely to be as stormy and dramatic as the one last year with the ruling group appearing to be in control of the situation.

The main feature of the AGM is the election of the new board with many in the current board likely to remain.

There will also be a new national cricket team selection committee. The committee will see new faces with the possible exit of the East zone representative Sambaran Banerjee and the Central zone representative Kishen Rungta.

The board treasurer, SK Nair, who has been a key figure in reversing BCCI8217;s fortunes, completes his five-year term and would make way for the election of a new treasurer.

Nair had been elected to the post five years ago in Gwalior when the Board8217;s accounts showed a deficit of Rs 81.60 lakh. The richest sports body in India has ended up 1997-98 with a surplus of rs 16 crore.

In addition to thetreasurer, the AGM will also elect two new vice-presidents. The two present vice-presidents, N Venkata Rao of Andhra Pradesh and Samiran Chakraborti of Tripura are retiring. Rao is also the chairman of the umpires8217; sub-committee.

BCCI president Raj Singh Dungarpur and secretary Jaywant Lele in all likelyhood would continue to hold office for the next term.

The AGM would also select the administrative managers for the engagements of the Indian team upto the next World Cup cricket tournament. The budget for the coming season will also be approved at the meet.

Meanwhile, the one-day international series during India8217;s tour of Zimbabwe later this month will be fought for the Hero Honda Cup.

The three-match series will be telecast live on Doordarshan8217;s national network DD-1.

The telecast will start at 1400 hrs IST, it said. India will play two one-day ties at Bulawayo on September 26 and 27 and the final at Harare on Sept 30.
