
MUMBAI: The collapse of merger talks between Glaxo and SmithKline affected the share prices of these companies. Glaxo plunged by 7.57 per cent to Rs 350.75 from Rs 379.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Burroughs Wellcome also nosedived by 7.05 per cent to close at Rs 319.75. SmithKline Pharma moved down from Rs 598.75 to Rs 582, registering a loss of 2.79 per cent, with a volume of 46,890 shares.
On the National Stock Exchange, Glaxo dipped by 6.71 per cent to close at Rs 354.40 against Monday8217;s close of Rs 379.90. The counter registered a volume of 3.26 lakh shares. Burroughs Wellcome fell sharply by 7.15 per cent to close at Rs 317.80. SmithKline Pharma declined by 2.97 per cent to close at Rs 579.55.
