
NEW DELHI, December 10: The city8217;s train timings have gone completely haywire. The Awadh-Assam Express, which left Guwahati three days ago, arrived 24 hours and 45 minutes late. It entered Delhi at 3.30 p.m. today, three hours before the second Awadh-Assam Express arrived at 6.25 p.m. Senior railway officials say that the delay in each train8217;s arrival was train-specific. Other than trains on the Delhi-Ambala route, which have not been running on schedule since the fractures were discovered, a number of other trains pulled into the city late. Shaheed Express was late, Dadar Express from Panipat was late and Sachkhand Express was running late.
All these delays are in addition to the trains that have been diverted on the Delhi-Ambala route and are subsequently running late. Malwa Express, Paschim Express, Jhelum Express, Delhi-Jammu Tawi, Barauni-Amritsar and Himachal Express have all been diverted.
The trains cancelled till December 17 are the Flying Mail between Amritsar and Delhi, Saryu-Yamuna Express, Shaheed Express and the Delhi-Kalka-Delhi train.
