CHANDIGARH, Sept 6: Unbeaten knock of 39 runs by Satish Kumar enabled Fitwell Cricket Club beat Allicator XI by four wickets in a cricket tournament at CRPF ground, yesterday.

Batting first Allicator XI scored 146 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Vikas 55 runs came to a naught when other batsmen failed to keep at the crease.

Ashok claimed three wickets while Sunil and Balbir got two wickets each.

In reply, Fitwell XI got the winning total in the 16th over, losing six wickets.

Satish (39 not out), Balbir (30) and Rajinder (16 not out) were the main run getters for the winners.

Brief scores: Allicator XI: 146 for 9 in 20 overs (Vikas 55, Ashok 3 for 19, Sunil 2 for 25, Balbir 2 for 20): Fitwell CC: 148 for 6 in 16.4 overs (Satish 39 n.o., Balbir 30, Ashok Kumar 29, Rajinder 16 n.o., Nevy Singh 2 for 18, Balbir Rana 2 for 25).

Cricket tourney
Chetna Cricket club is organising cricket tournament from September 18 at the Sector 40 ground. According to a press release, entry closes on September 15, with Chetna Printing Press, Shop No-73-A, Badheri (Chandigarh).

YPS lads in final
Yadavinder Public School, SAS Nagar, beat Welhams Boys School (Dehradun) to book a berth in the finals of the under-13 age group in the North Zone Inter-School team squash championships at Mayo College, Ajmer. According to information received here, YPS will clash with Mayo `A’ team who defeated Modern School (Delhi) in the other semifinal.

For YPS Manpreet Malhi set the ball rolling by beating Arjun Manchanda 9-4, 9-2, 9-1. In the second match Jai Sekhon (YPS) defeated Karan Mehrotra 9-4, 9-1, 9-2. And in the last match Harinder Singh (YPS) beat Abhishek Kapoor 9-5, 9-1, 9-1.

The competition is also being held in under-15, under-17 and under-19. The finalists in each group will qualify for the All-India inter-school meet to be held at Delhi from September 13 to 18.

The teams which have made it to the final of under-15 are The Doon School (Dehradun) and Mayo College `A’, Ajmer. In the under-17 section, the finalists are Mayo College and RSM Inter-College Dhampur (UP). In the under-19 section, Welhams Boys School, Dehradun and Bishop Cotton School (Shimla) are the finalists.
