
MUMBAI, May 6: The Brijesh Patel-Imtiaz Patel Academy opener Pranay Sanklecha was again in his elements today at the Elf-Vensarkar Academy, Oval Maidan, here, today.
The 14-year-old lad compiled his second hundred of the national-level under-14 cricket tournament for the Elf Cup as the Bangalore outfit went on to pose a massive 266 for three in the alloted 35 overs and inflict a 66-run defeat over Elf-Vengsarkar Academy A’. It was their third successive victory for the winners, who have now emerged serious contenders for a berth in the final. Sanklecha, who struck 14 fours in his knock of 108 was also involved in a 139-run stand for the opening wicket with Deepak Chowgule (48). Arun Tangaraj too joined the run feast with a brisk 64, inclusive of 12 hits to the fence.
In reply, EVA A’ started on a rousing note but failed to sustain it and were bowled out for 200.
In the second match of the day, Tissot Academy, Delhi downed Elf-Vengsarkar Academy B’ by five wickets to record their second win in the league.
