Manchester United striker Louis Saha will get an “unwelcome ovation” from the crowd if he plays against his old club Fulham on Saturday, according to his manager Alex Ferguson. Saha, who completed an acrimonious 12.8 million-pound ($23.83 million) transfer to the champions last month, may miss the Premier League match through injury but if he recovers he can expect a hostile reception at Loftus Road, Ferguson told a news conference on Friday. “If a player leaves a club he’s going to get slaughtered the first time he goes back. It’s not unusual and we can expect that,” Ferguson said. “You never know, but I think Louis can expect an unwelcome ovation.” Ferguson said his own club were far more welcoming toreturning ex-players.“We are one of the few clubs who applauds players when theycome back,” he said. “Normally, when players come back to Old Trafford.they’ve all had fantastic receptions.”Saha has scored three goals in four games for United andFulham assistant manager Steve Kean, in charge of the team while Chris Coleman recovers in hospital from an infection, is looking forward to seeing the French international.
