
DURBAN, DEC 29: South Africa crushed the West Indies by nine wickets to win the third Test 75 minutes after lunch of the fourth day at Kingsmead today.
The win gave them an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
Guiding the home team to safety at the close were Gary Kirsten on a really well-struck undefeated 71 and Jacques Kallis on 23. Gibbs had been removed just one run short of his second Test 50 by Carl Hooper, who trapped him in front.
