The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh RSS will have an onerous task, fending off the tag of 8220;Hindu terrorism8221; thrust upon Hindu outfits.
The organisation is holding a five-day conclave starting November 21 to discuss the strategy for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
The RSS chief, K C Sudarshan, will preside over the meeting of state heads of all organisations affiliated to the Sangh Parivar. The Hindu terror angle, which has been a cause of concern for the Sangh Parivar, will be a part of the agenda of the conclave. According to sources in the RSS, the conclave assumes significance as the top leadership of the Sangh will participate in the meet.
On November 23, Sudarshan will address a meeting of the prominent citizens of Lucknow, including several Dalit thinkers and retired IPS officers. He will also meet top BJP leaders to ascertain the political situation in the state and the electoral preparations.
Better coordination among all Hindu organisations will be also discussed, said a party leader. A pracharak 8212; the functionary of the RSS 8212; admitted on condition of anonymity that lack of coordination among the different organisations under the Parivar was the root cause of BJP8217;s debacle in the 2007 Assembly and 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
8220;Sometimes, owing to their over-enthusiasm for the cause of Hindutva, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders end up targeting BJP and its top leaders,8221; said another pracharak. Recently, VHP leader Ashok Singhal had criticised Atal Bihari Vajpayee. According to BJP sources, senior RSS leaders will help the party chalk out a poll strategy to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
