And while at Splendour Country, the evening of April 18 also saw Puneites drive down here to watch 24 young men walk the ramp, aspiring for the Mr. Pune 1999 8211; Mr. Physique title. The grand finale of the event 8211; the Mr. Pune 1999, Man of the Millennium contest, organised by Ventures Entertainment 8211; will be held on April 24.
The 24 contestants, who were selected out of the 389 entries received, did the rampwalk after a dip in the pool. The judges 8211; television director Anand Mahendroo, Gladrags Supermodel 8217;97-8217;98 Tora Khazgir and fitness instructor Rashmi 8211; shortlisted nine semi-finalists. After a question-answer round, Sandeep Bhosle was awarded the Mr. Physique title.
The finale is just around the corner but not before the two other rounds 8211; Mr. Talent and Mr. Pune Personality 8211; which will be conducted on April 21. So guys, get crackin8217;.
Road sense
If you happened to be out and about on April 17, 18 or 19, you might have seen the Pepsi Blue Brigade 8211; the two cars and four bikes that hit the streets in preparation for the Pepsi World Cup Concert. They gave out free invitation passes for the concert to be held on April 20 at the University of Pune grounds. The big star of the brigade was to be VJ Amrita but she never showed up. Apparently, a traffic jam on the Mumbai-Pune Highway had her turning back at Lonavala.
