Hot spot
Last Monday, fashion designer Wendell Rodericks flew in from Goa to give Mumbaikars some style advice. According to him, colour is one of the most important ingredients of fashion. In fact, Wendell believes that last season8217;s clothes in a colour that suits you stays in fashion longer than this season8217;s couture in colours that clash. He peppered his lec-dem with titbits from his past and 200 eager Sheetal shoppers were held spellbound. Even model co-ordinator Rasna Behl, a veteran stylist, found a tip or two to add to her filofax. Ten years in the fashion business and hands-on training in Paris and Los Angeles really gives Wendell an edge. Perhaps that8217;s why his designerwear is actually wearable on the streets.
Among those who turned up that night were Tina Tahiliani Parikh and Suresh Bhojwani. Suresh himself is a regular singer at NJ-JBTB with wife Devika but that does not stop him from being a good listener. And in June, he gets a chance to be back centrestage.
Still champs
Even though it seems abundantly clear that India is not going to win the World Cup, cricket fever rages unabated. And the latest to hop on to the cricket promotions bandwagon is the Oberoi Hotel. Promising the regular big screen, Champs, the sports bar, also has a dart board and a basket ball hoop. For its opening night, the hotel got Kapil Dev to shoot a few hoops. Keeping him company in this new watering hole were Videocon8217;s Venugopal Dhoot and Business India8217;s Ashok Advani.
And finally8230;
The BBC show, Style! that UTV produces is apparently going off the air in June. A favourite with serious fashion watchers, the show is really going to be missed. And most of all by one of the co-hosts. Yes, we are talking about model Namrata Barua. Rahul Bose we know has his hands full 8212; he has plans of producing his own film and doing some theatre work in London. But what will become of Namrata? She has been missing from the world of modelling and music vidoes for quite a while. While she is lovely looking, getting back is not always easy.
