MUMBAI, JULY 13: Central Bank of India thrashed lowly-placed Khalsa Gymkhana 5-0 in their concluding match of the BHA Senior Division hockey league, sponsored by Punjab National Bank, at the Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate, today.

CBI, having collected two points from two draws, went all out for victory. Veteran striker Rommel Pereira pumped in three goals and their most prolific scorer this season, young and promising striker Ashley Piedade netted a brace, all the goals coming in the first-half.

In another match of the same division, Bombay Republicans A held title contenders Sports Authority of India (SAI) to a goalless draw.

Republicans, who have completed their league commitments, tallied six points with a lone victory and three draws. SAI, who have a game in hand against Mumbai Port Trust, have played six, won five, drawn one and have aggregated 16 points.

There will no game tomorrow.
