Uday Bhan was apparently the gang leader. He visited different banks and hung around inside, pretending to fill out some form. This enabled him to select the target, someone who was alone and who had withdrawn a large amount of money. Bhan would then come out of the bank, so as not to raise suspicion and then signal to the other members waiting outside. The person was robbed at a convenient spot and the gang members used stolen motorcycles to escape. They usually met the following day to distribute the booty. According to the police, they changed the petrol tanks and number plates of the stolen motorcycles after each robbery.

It was apparently this gang that robbed a trader in a bus near the Moolchand flyover in February. Two days later they allegedly looted Rs 50,000 at gun point from a person leaving the State Bank of India near Grandlay Cinema. In March they reportedly hijacked a truck at gunpoint and then looted an autorickshaw driver in Sangam Vihar.
