Janata Dal Secular national vice-president C M Ibrahim has set an August 20 deadline for party chief H D Deve Gowda to rectify his 8220;political mistake8221; of sacking Siddaramaiah as Deputy Chief Minister.

Ibrahim said the recent removal of Siddaramaiah, Dr H C Mahadevappa and Satish Jarkihole from the ministry was 8220;undemocratic8221; and warned that the Dal Secular would have to pay a heavy price if it failed to make amends.

Slamming Deve Gowda for the sack decision which he likened to 8220;digging its the party8217;s own grave8221;, Ibrahim said people have started distancing themselves from the Dal S because of the party chief8217;s autocratic attitude.

He added that the party8217;s poor showing in the recent Bidar and Shimoga by-elections was a result of Deve Gowda8217;s unilateral decisions.

8220;Earlier too, Gowda took an unilateral decision to expel legislator Vaijanath Patil and three others. This time he did not consult any party central leaders before removing Siddaramaiah from the Cabinet. We advised Gowda time and again, but he did not listen,8221; Ibrahim said.

The vice-president said Deve Gowda had betrayed Siddaramaiah, denying him the CM8217;s post while forming a coalition government in Karnataka with the Congress.
