Tourism gets industry status in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: In a decision taken at the State Cabinet meeting held at Mantralaya today, the Narayan Rane Government has awarded industry status and other major sops for tourism in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Rane and his deputy Gopinath Munde said the new policy will focus on promoting tourism in the State, generating more employment opportunities and foreign exchange.

US sacks scientist

WASHINGTON: The US Department of Energy DoE fired a Chinese-American scientist at its Los Alamos Laboratories today in connection with an investigation into the leaking of nuclear secrets to China.
