Goa faith-vote fixed for 26th

PANAJI: The State Governor, Lt General Retd JFR Jacob has directed Chief Minister Wilfred D8217;Souza to seek a vote of confidence in his government on November 26. This decision was arrived at a joint meeting between the Chief Minister and his coalition8217;s partners the MGP and BJP on one side and representatives of Congress party, Luizinho Falierio and Dr Dayanand Narvekar on the other.

Taslima surrenders

DHAKA: A Bangladeshi court today granted an anticipatory bail to the controversial writer Taslima Nasreen, facing arrest warrants in a revived case of blasphemy, after she surrendered before the court. After spending four years of exile, Nasreen, wanted by police following an arrest order issued by a magistrate, made a surprise appearance before the High Court.

Fishermen released

NEW DELHI: A batch of 190 Indian fishermen released by Pakistan is expected to arrive in Gujarat by Monday, Defence Ministry sources said on Sunday. The fishermen in 31boats, escorted by a Coast Guard ship Sangram will enter Indian waters on Sunday.
