Sena expels 9 party workers
MUMBAI: Shiv Sena has expelled nine office-bearers for anti-party activities and seven others including five district chiefs were divested of organisational responsibilities, following `unsatisfactory performance in recent polls’. The expelled are Prabhakar Kale (Warud), Mohan Chokhande and Bhikusheth Shingne (Sindkhedraja), Munna Darode (Nagpur), Balaji Patil, Kamlakar Chavan and Sudhir Chavan (Tuljapur), Harkisan Holkar (Badnapur) and Kundalik Gaikwad (Beed), a party statement said on Saturday.

Minister remanded
PATNA: Mohammad Illiyas Hussain, who was dismissed as Bihar’s road construction minister following his arrest yesterday in the Rs 400-crore bitumen scam, was remanded to CBI custody for five days. Special CBI Judge S K Sharma sent Hussain to the CBI remand and fixed Nov 10 as the next date for his production.
