
SC confirms death penalty in Rajiv case
NEW DELHI: Gallows await four condemned prisoners in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case with the Supreme Court on Friday rejecting their petitions seeking review of an earlier judgement confirming the death penalty to them. A three-judge bench comprising Justices K T Thomas, D P Wadhwa and S S M Quadri dismissed by 2-1 majority the petitions filed by Nalini, her husband Murugan, Suthenthiraja and G Periaravalan for review of the May 11 judgement of the court.
