Lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri dead

MUMBAI: Renowned lyricist, Hasrat Jaipuri, died here this evening in a nursing home. The 78-year-old Jaipuri was ailing since past several days. Jaipuri began his career in Hindi film industry with Raj Kapoor8217;s Barsaat and penned lyrics for all the major films under the R K banner including Shree 420 and Boot Polish. Jaipuri also wrote lyrics for several blockbusters like Anarkali, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje and Dil Apna Aur Preet Parayee.
